I agree, I'm coming from Darkfall and I really liked Full-loot pvp.

I like partial loot but I am afraid I tend to be more carebear myself if I am just doing some mindless grinding.

I'd have to completely disagree. Looting does little to nothing for a game besides give griefers ammunition.

Every sandbox attempt does not need to go down the same tried and failed, tried and failed, tried and failed path.

Risk & reward is absolutely necessary in a sandboxy game. Looting adds substantially to the persistence and immersion of game-play, but rather than full, partial is preferred by myself.

Isolate it to something valuable to make the pvp effort meaningful, such as resources only. Or a random roll of an equipped item or 2 from the one that is defeated.

Full-loot in and of itself hasn't failed in sandboxes, it has just been an awfully harsh risk of game-play for many that want less of "all-or-nothing" and more of the consequences being there without losing everything.
Every sandbox attempt does not need to go down the same tried and failed, tried and failed, tried and failed path.

Otherwise the themepark griefers that have devolved the genre into a nanny-state of welfare consequence-less gaming win.

Risk vs reward is such a cute security blanket that some people cling to. But unfortunately it is an illusion just like that security.

Answer me a simple question who carries all the risk and who gets all the rewards?

Taking other peoples junk doesn't give the world sustainability item destruction does.

You sure are putting a lot of faith that looting will be the mystery cure to the problems that mmos are facing.

I agree that there needs to be some form of gain and loss. It shouldn't be awe man I died oh well lets just charge right back in. I think there could be a much better way then taking something directly from someone. Plus it will end up being just like Fellucia. They would have to start adding additional perks to try to bribe people to play in the area.

i also come from Darkfall even though there coumminty sucks and they dont listen to the player base. The only reason in my belief to pvp is to get loot, to feel good about your kill and also get a reward to re gear and go out again to find a fight(s). Only makes it more interesting to log on another day to fight.

Full loot DOES sound fun, but I've experienced being fully looted before as well and it makes you want to quit. However...it is more realistic.

Having your stuff stolen is not a good way to put risk in IMHO. I think it would cause another Fellucia where developers try to beg and bribe people into the pvp area. It didn't really work for Fellucia so why repeat something that didn't work.

What about on each death your gear max durability is lessened by some %. Keep dying without replacing your gear and it will eventually break.
